This was a ticket design I designed for my school's 2025 fall performance of Lafayette No.1 by Mandy Connor. In this work I attempted to symbolize the importance of the Yellow Fever Epidemic to the show through the eye showing symptoms of jaundiceĀ and representing the lethality of the illness through the puss transforming into the top of a tombstone. Yellow jack being represented as a yellow mosquito at the bottom, the main form of transmission of yellow fever. The lettering is a draft of what was later finalized. In the finalized version the lettering remained yellow, however the placement of NO.1 was changed to fit in the horizontal part of the cross and due to limitations with the ticket purchasing software, the curve and perspective seen in "Lafayette" and "By Mandy Connor" were less pronounced. I decided to include this version however due to my preference of the way the letters fit on the ticket.
This piece was made mainly as a perspective practice. For the image I used two versions of the original design for my character Radio who is often used as a representation of myself. At the time my line work and shading was not very strong, and if I were to go back to this piece I would likely alter the color scheme and add more obvious line weights, as well as fix the shading a bit as it is not as natural as I like.
This was based off the designs and settings in an unfinished Multi Animator project: Poison Flowers that I was inspired by. While I was not apart of this project, I took inspiration from two reference images for settings in the map and used it to practice backgrounds and composition. There was no reference for the border between these two settings so I took creative liberties and ended up with an environment I really liked. If I could do it over again I would lower or shrink the foreground images (With the exception of the butterfly) so the venus flytrap doesnt distract as much from the two cats. I would also move the boarder itself a bit closer to the center as the piece feels a bit off balance right now, but ultimately its still a piece I am very proud of.
